Rivermat - Hutan

Rp 1,900,000
Description

Some things are made to be used once and forgotten. We think differently.

The Rivermat is Indosole's first utility, wellness and exercise mat, built from discarded sandals pulled from the rivers of Indonesia and reimagined into the ground beneath your practice. Each mat carries the weight of where it came from: the waterways, the hands that found it, the process that gave it a second life.

Four colorways. Four states of movement. One material, transformed.

This is not just a mat. It is a return to the earth, to intention, to the idea that what we stand on matters as much as what we stand for.

Reimagined from Indonesia's rivers.

Rivermat x Sungai Design - The Design Process

Every Rivermat begins in a river.

Sungai Design, Indonesia's river cleaning network, pulls discarded sandals and rubber waste from waterways across the archipelago. Material that was lost, left behind, forgotten at the water's edge. In partnership with Indosole, that old waste is collected, cleaned and broken down. Each fragment is sorted, processed and pressed into something entirely new.

What arrives on your mat is the result of that journey. The speckled texture you feel underfoot is not decorative. It is the honest record of reclaimed material, each colorway shaped by the composition of what was found. No two mats are identical. No batch is the same.

From the river to the studio. From waste to ground.
Made in Indonesia, with everything Indonesia gave back.

Meet Hutan (Forest) - Hutan is the forest floor - ancient, layered, unhurried. For the body that wants to move controlled, deliberate, aligned, whatever the practice. Every movement is an act of deep listening.

"I loved that pair so much, that 2 + years later, I got a second pair. They fit well, hold up well and look good. I love that they are constructed from recycled tires and other stuff that gets thrown out."

"Hands down the best all-around flip flops out there. Good for the planet, long-lasting, comfortable, and good price (if it's lasting me nearly 7 years, it's worthwhile)."

"Quality far exceeded my expectations. They are lightweight but the materials are solid. The perfect balance of firm and sturdy yet cushioned and very comfortable."

RESOURCEFUL CREATIONS SINCE 2009.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Founded by Kyle Parsons from San Francisco, on his first surf trip to Bali in 2004. The sandals he was wearing at the time broke, so Kyle made a pair of flip flops from old tires, little did he know it would become his lifes passion.

We dedicated the last 15 years to being the environmental keepers of the future. We merged artisan skill with corrective impact, developing a laborious shoe making process that transforms tires to soles by hand.

A breakthrough technology was needed that could address mass scale. Indosole aspired to double growth while significantly reducing global negative impact.
