Im Dewi Natalia, though you might know me online as ForAsiaCheers. I’m a travel photographer from Indonesia, spending most of my time exploring Asia with my camera in hand. I love capturing real, everyday moments the kind of photos that tell stories without needing words. My goal is to help us see each other a little more clearly through photography. Right now, I’m on a mission to visit and photograph in every country across Asia. I’ve shot with Indosole a few times one of my fave brands for real. They always let me do my thing and bring ideas to life, super chill and fun every time. Here’s a few of my fave street shots from Southeast Asia.

Lok Yea’s a tattoo artist from Kuala Lumpur, been in the industry for around 10 years. He’s real serious about his work believes tattoos can change your whole vibe and aura, so he’s super strict with his designs. His style’s rooted in Japanese influence . We met in KL a while back and hung out a few times whenever I transit through quick shoots or lunch. Last month we finally did an Indosole sandal shoot together. He liked what Indosole’s doing for the environment, so he was down for the hang and shoot. Funny thing, it was our first time at Merdeka Square, even though he’s local and I’ve passed Malaysia so manyt imes. Cool dude, creative, and all heart for his craft.

Caleb he’s an Ethiopian dude who grew up in Asia, mostly in Thailand and Myanmar. I’ve known him since he was just a little kid. He’s one of my favorite people to shoot with he’s got that cool afro look and natural vibe in front of the camera. I spent a lot of time with his family back in Myanmar his dad is a good friend of mine. During those days, I used to cruise around Myanmar a lot, visiting his family and going on fun jungle adventures together. After the coup happened, things changed, and his family had to move to Chiang Mai. But yeah, Caleb’s been my homie since the Myanmar days, and we still hang out and shoot together here in Thailand.

Be Joy, local from Yangon, now based in Chiang Mai. I met her at a fundraising gig for the Myanmar earthquake relief she she got a fire voice and big heart She’s not only a singer but also a news presenter and reporter for the Myanmar community. She loves to tell real human stories about resilience, social change, and the voices of the Myanmar people. Through her music, she brings hope and courage, using her voice to lift people up in the hard times.

Sorranachai punk soul, local Chiang Mai dude and tattoo artist. He does long stick hand-poke traditional Sak Yant tattoos and has been tattooing for almost 3 years now, based in England. One of my fave local homies , super chill, generous, and always fun to hang with. Sometimes he joins Food Not Bombs, giving out free food to the homeless around Chiang Mai. I tag along with him once in a while too. This portrait was taken when Chai was rocking his Sungai Watch sandals, heading out for an afternoon ride to visit another tattoo artist. Quick hang at the market before cruising to Hang Dong.

MUSI Musi, a reggae-soul musician from Yangon now based in Chiang Mai. We shot this just around the neighborhood stumbled upon a random trash spot and decided to use it. The idea was to reflect the message behind Sungai Watch cleaning up waste mixed with a touch of street fashion and the sandal theme. Sometimes, beauty can be created in the most unexpected places.

Watcharapong Yookerd Bangkok dude. Met him real quick at some moto event, then by chance he pulled up at the motorcycle café I used where I used to stay in Chiang Mai. Soon as I saw his chopper I just had to ask him to jump in for a sandal shoot. He just wrapped a fun ride from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai, then cruisin’ back to Bangkok. Super chill bro, perfect for the shoot.

Miriam: Shan-Thai, originally from Myanmar, now based in Chiang Mai. She’s an awesome friend and a really good singer too! This shoot was done in Chinatown, one of my fave spots in Chiang Mai. This one’s my fave shot her sitting on a songthaew, the local Thai transport.

Winnie fixer, translator, negotiator, anthropologist, and tattoo lover. I meet her during tattoo workshop at CMU. She’s very chill, sabay-sabay style ,patient and generous kind of person. The shoot was super random. I just ask her, “Which sandal you like?” and tell her we gonna shoot Jamu sandal. She laugh and say, “This one look like monk sandal!” haha So we just go shoot at Thapae Gate, the famous spot in Chiang Mai. No plan, just go with the flow and honestly, it turn out my favorite photo from the sandal shoot.

Song is a local Thai from Surin. I met him during my quick visit in Chom Thong last year. During breakfast, he told me he used to work at a government office but didn’t like it, so he moved to Chiang Mai and worked at a hotel. He’s also part of a motorcycle crew called Formulate Hell Now he stays and works at a farm stay called Ban Nuea. I went for a quick visit to shoot the sandals, went to the local market, and just enjoyed the farm life. Song is super fun to hang with always making jokes, always smiling, full of happy energy. Just one of those people who make everything feel easy and fun.

Tawin Boontham from Nakhon Si Thammarat trainer of Muay Thai, boxing, and ancient Muay Thai (Muay Boran). He’s that local OG type reggae soul, classic vibe, and got that quiet dignity that real kru (teacher) always have, Tawin has been teaching for many years locals, foreigners, anyone who got heart for Muay Thai, I know Tawin from back in the days at a reggae bar somewhere in Chiang Mai. When indosole told me to shoot the Indosole reggae sandal, my mind went straight to Tawin because he’s the true reggae soul.
