15 years of Indosole

Thank you!
15 years feels both long and yet like it’s gone by in a flash. We want to first thank everyone of our supporters for believing in us and standing by us through this journey.

What began on the streets of Bali has grown into a global movement.
For 15 years, Indosole has repurposed more than 100,000 tires that would otherwise pollute landfills, expanding our product range and community to over 30 countries. As a certified B Corporation, we remain committed to transparency, ethical sourcing, and supporting the artisans and makers who bring our products to life.

Our mission to solve the problem of waste tires is still at the heart of everything we do—but it has also evolved into a solutions-based approach to other discarded materials. We’ve transformed sneaker soles into vibrant recycled rubber, recovered sandals from polluted rivers in partnership with Sungai Watch, crafted recycled fabrics with our pioneering partners at Pable for the Pable Collection, and collaborated with Handep to create exquisite handwoven rattan made by women in Dayak communities deep in the jungles of Kalimantan.

These partnerships have strengthened our roots, deepened our purpose, and set the foundation for the next chapter of Indosole.

Our 15-Year ‘Sole-bration’
We marked this milestone with seven events over five days—a whirlwind of creativity, connection, and good energy.

  • Uluwatu Store: Tomo of Wasabi shared his journey from crafting recycled goods to building a brand rooted in craftsmanship and community, followed by Rip Zinger’s inspiring talk on health, longevity, and living with vitality.

  • Echo Beach Signature Event: The State of Storytelling, curated by global culture journalist Bandana Tewari, explored storytelling through design, culture, sound, and self-expression, featuring talks, performances, and creative minds from across Bali.

  • Ubud Store: Jamu Jams with Krisna Floop brought music, herbal elixirs, and togetherness.

  • Retailer & Partner Appreciation Night: In collaboration with our neighbors Smoke, we hosted a feast with tunes by Catnip Biscuit, launched our 15-Year Anniversary sandals, offered custom screen printing, and previewed upcoming collections for our partners.

  • Kids’ Day: Stitch Up guided children in customizing and painting their own sandals, with Petanin Hati playing out front on a sunny Sunday morning.

  • Surf Mission Finale: At dawn, our surf team and friends discovered a new wave—affectionately named Aduhh Awas Batu (“Whoa, watch out for that rock”)—followed by a beachside fish barbecue at a local warung.

It was a week filled with joy, gratitude, and connection—with our community here in Bali and our friends around the world.
Thank you, Suksme, Terima Kasih Semua.

With love,
The Indosole Team
